Check Up

I went back to the doctor today. I gave him my blood pressure readings for the past 2 weeks and he said they looked great and then the nurse took my blood pressure and it was high again today. So I now begin going every 2 weeks. He said he wants to keep a closer eye on it. I have to continue to take my blood pressure at home, spent more time relaxing and laying on my left side. I also had my glucose test today and was told I failed. I guess it is suppose to read 135 or less and mine was 153. So she took a tube of blood and said she would send it off to the lab and if I didn't here anything back from them in a couple days that was a good thing, but if I got a call that wasn't good. So I guess we wait. Did anyone fail their first glucose test? If so, what happens next? What does it mean? ETC.....

Burning Leaves = Melted Siding!

Yes that is right...Someone should give you a manual about burning leaves, because my husband found out that burning leaves to close to the house will melt the siding right off of it!

On Saturday Jimmy decided to blow the leaves into piles and then burn them. I came home asked what he was doing because he is not suppose to be doing labor like that because he just had carpal tunnel surgery 3 weeks ago and he said well they need done. I said why don't you mulch them up with the lawn mower and he says, "nahhhh, I'm just gonna burn them!" I said ok but they are pretty close to the house. He says, "I'm not gonna burn them right here!" About half hour later I go out and he had that look on his face like I'm a man and I just messed up. Sure enough the siding melted right off because the burning leaves were to close to the house!

Yes dear you deserve me sharing this story with all my blogger friends because remember nothing is sacred in our marriage - you spill the beans about all!

Taking the Easy Route

For the past 5 years we have been buying wood, chopping wood, stacking wood, keeping the wood dry, carrying it in the house, making a mess in the house and cleaning out the fire place. Well...not this year! We decided this year that we wanted to take the easy route so we put in gas logs! We love them...even though it has been unseasonably warm we have still been running them. They are just so cozy and with a touch of a button - Viola "fire!"

Checkup

I went for my 4 week checkup today and didn't get the best news. I guess I gained a little to much over the past 4weeks. The doctor said my over all weight gain was ok but he was concerned with the weight gain over the past 4 weeks. Oops! So guess I need to eat a little healthier! Also, my blood pressure was really high for me. He suggested getting a blood pressure cuff so I could take my blood pressure on my own or go somewhere everyday and have it checked. Luckily my mom has one I can borrow. I have never had an issue with blood pressure and it usually runs very low and that is why the doctor is a bit concerned. I am to check my blood pressure everyday for the next 2 weeks and keep track of it and I go back in 2 weeks so he can go over what I have been taking and he will check it again that day. In 2 weeks I also have to have to drink the lovely orange drink and have my glucose tested! He said the heartbeat sounded just fine but just wanted to watch me a little closer over the next few weeks.

Movin' and Kickin'

For the past several weeks I have experienced the amazing feelings of flutters, kicks and punches, but they were just never strong enough for Jimmy to feel them. However, last night we were in bed and I had a big weekend of shopping in Columbus for 2 days and was exhausted and just ready to go to sleep, but someone had something else in mind! She was a movin' and a kickin' all over the place and I knew what I was feeling Jimmy would be able to feel. So, I took his hand and placed right where she was kickin' and Jimmy said oh WOW I felt that one, oh and that one, etc. . . Then he said she must have went to sleep because I don't feel her anymore and I said nope she's still movin', place your hand here and sure enough he felt her again! What a feeling, I love it! I know all you moms know exactly what I am talking about :)

Pie Anyone?

Thanks Jacie! Since the fair my husband has been after me to get Jacie Wright's Coconut Cream Pie recipe. People drop stuff off at the fair booth all the time and Jacie took a Coconut Cream Pie. I finally asked Jacie the other day and my first attempt at it was this weekend. I must say the pie looked beautiful! When I was all done I patted myself on the back. LOL - until I cut the first piece. As soon as I dished the first piece all the pie filling started oozing into the slot that was empty! Ok so it looked prettier before the piece was cut. :) Jimmy and I had a little piece and it was still pretty good even though it didn't set up. We put it back in the fridge, went to Zanesville to dinner and a movie, came home and Jimmy had another piece. It was firmer the second time but still not as firm as I think it should have been.

Thanks Jacie for the recipe, but any suggestions what I might have done wrong?
